Coolsaet Finishes Second At Parkersburg Half Marathon

Reid Coolsaet continued his build toward the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon with a second place finish at the Parkersburg Half Marathon. Coolsaet finished second in the strong field with a time of 63 minutes and 46 seconds. Teammate Eric Gillis finished sixth in 65 minutes and 48 seconds.

Taylor Milne Named To Americas Team At Continental Cup

Taylor Milne has been selected to represent the Americas team at the IAAF Continental Cup September 3rd and 4th in Split, Croatia. Milne will run the 1500 metres against a top flight field including Olympic Champion Asbel Kiprop. The Continental Cup, formerly called the World Cup, is a team competition which sees the globe broken up in to four areas, the Americas, Europe, Africa and Australasia (Asia and Oceanian). The fields consist of three top athletes from each of the four regions. |

Milne and Stellingwerff Named To Commonwealth Games Team

Taylor Milne and Hilary Stellingwerff were among 40 athletes named to Canada’s Commonwealth Games team. Milne and Stellingwerff both finished third in the 1500 metres at the recent Canadian Championships, which allowed them to be selected to the team. For Stellingwerff this will be her second appearance at the Commonwealth Games after finishing 11th in 2006, Milne will be making his debut at the Commonwealth Games.

Speed River Wins National Title On Men's Side, Achieves Record Medal Haul

Speed River athletes had a record setting showing at this past weekend's Canadian Track and Field Championships. The club brought home nine medals in all, including gold medals in both the men's and women's steeplechase. The men also defended their National Team Title with an eight point win over the University of Toronto Track Club, while the women finished second overall falling to the Elite Edge club based in Toronto.
